A conceptual handbook and a nimble reference tool designed for those who want a sure-footed orientation among the verbs of the English language or need to quickly sort out uncertainties over verb construction, conjugation, spelling, or usage.

Because each language requires a specific approach to its structures and idiosyncratic forms, INGLESE Verbi stands apart from the other titles in this series. 

Its content focuses less on inflection and is thus differently organized.

In terms of teaching method and approach, the design and structure of this handbook adheres to the following basic criteria:

• the introduction deals with the sentence position and the semantic value of the verb as a function of tense, aspect, and mood, its affirmative, negative and interrogative constructions, and its derived forms. Copious examples enhance understanding and quickly resolve issues of form, function, and usage rules
• more than 400 strong, contract, and irregular verbs, are divided into logical groups that are analyzed in depth
• a new method for approaching phrasal and prepositional verbs is outlined, to aid the native speaker of Italian who wishes to take on this challenging feature of the English language
• common hurdles in learning English are noted, with explanations of differences in usage between the two languages
